Pinner Park Infants School has a Nursery, Reception, Year 1 and Year 2.
The school is arranged on two levels. On the ground floor there is the Nursery, the Reception and Year 1 classrooms, Welfare Room, Library and Group Rooms – all reached by corridors with toilet and cloakroom facilities. Upstairs is purpose built with the Year 2 classrooms, a Library and a shared working area, and again toilet and cloakroom facilities.
The children are grouped into classes of thirty pupils according to their age and there are four mixed ability classes in each of the three year groups.
The Nursery runs two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon, with twenty-six children in each group.
The classrooms and teaching areas contain a wide range of teaching and learning aids and educational equipment, including interactive whiteboards, as well as fiction and information books. There are also two well stocked library areas in school where children can choose books. The hall is well equipped for P.E. and there is a well used ICT suite.
The school is bordered by a grass playing field and has two hard surface playgrounds containing planted areas and pergolas, climbing equipment with safety surfaces, seating areas for quiet activities and areas for ball games and running. ‘Shade sails’ and parasols provide shade in the summer.
The Reception classes lead onto their own outside space where a range of learning activities take place.
The Nursery has a separate fenced off outdoor area a wide range of play equipment.
