Support for Parents
Over the year you will be invited to meetings or workshops where we will explain the learning your child does in class. The presentations from each of these will be posted here after the event for you to refer to. If you have questions, worries, or want to discuss any aspects of learning, please talk to your child’s teacher, Miss Disspain or Miss Tait.
During the year, your child’s progress is continually assessed and then they are taught their next steps. In the Summer Term, the children are assessed against the National Expectations for their age group. At the end of Reception and Year 2 a judgement is made in various areas of their learning against prescribed expectations and their standard recorded. Your End of Year Profile will tell you whether your child is working: at the ‘Expected Standard’; towards the ‘Expected Standard’ (emerging in Reception); or at a greater depth (exceeding in Reception). The profile also explains what they need to work on to become more secure in areas and to move on in their learning.
